Avanti Wine Cooler Review
Whether you need to store 8 or 160 bottles of wine, Avanti has a way to help you keep your wine chilled.
If you enjoy wine then you already know that it needs to be kept at the proper temperatures, humidity and kept away from sunlight and ultraviolet light and too much vibration in order to let it age to enjoy its full flavor. If you are a wine connoisseur there's a good chance that you have several to hundreds of bottles in your home. Properly storing your wines in an Avanti wine cooler may be what you are looking for.
Avanti has a range of single and dual temperature zone coolers. Whether you need to store a half-dozen bottles, or more than 150, Avanti has more than 20 systems that can keep your wine chilled and stored properly.
If you plan on keeping both white and red wines, you will need the dual zone coolers. If you only need to store one kind of wine, a single zone unit will work well. For most home collectors, who will have 150-160 bottles, a dual zone system will work best. This is because it will allow you to store both red and white wines within the same cooler.
If your collection of wines will be more than 150 bottles, you may wish to consider several coolers. A smaller unit could be placed in your kitchen for use every day; while other, larger systems could store wine longer term, or simply hold the wine until you bring them into the main area where they will be consumed.
A good counter top single zone cooler might be the Model EWC1600M - Superconductor 16 Bottle Wine Chiller. This countertop model is great if you are storing one type of wine and fits easily in the kitchen or pantry area. It has a stylish mirrored finish door on a black cabinet so it fits most kitchen designs and it protects the wines from excess light. The system also provides controls via an integrated soft touch temperature control with digital display.
The next step up, in countertop storage, is the Model EWC16B - 16 Bottle, Thermoelectric Wine Cooler. This model has no vibration and it provides a Thermopane reversible glass door so that you can see your wines without having to open the door. You will want to place this unit in a shaded area however, as you don't want to expose your wines to daylight or artificial ultraviolet light.
They also offer multiple sizes and models up to string more than 160 bottles in a single zone model, like the Model WR682SS-1 160 Bottle Wine Cooler. This offers one-touch digital control for Red, White and sparkling Wine, Electronic display to monitor the system, internal lighting, built in fan for temperature control and a security lock to help protect your investment.
Most consumers however, will opt for the dual zone wine coolers because of the additional flexibility to store Red and White Wines in the same unit.
The dual zone coolers range in capacity from 8 to 149 bottles. The 8 Bottle counter top system is the Model SWBC250D and it is a black cabinet with mirror finished door. It offers storage for 8 bottles on the top rack, and other beverages below. The next model stores 18 bottles, Model EWC18DZ and the next step up holds 40 to 46 bottles.
The 46 bottle coolers come in various models with Stainless Steel finishes like the Model WCR524SDZD-1 and the Model WCR524SDZD. The Dark and Cherry colored wood models are Model QCR534DZD-M and WCR534WDZD-N.
The largest dual zone Avanti Wine Cooler is the 149 bottle unit. Model WCR683DZD-1. It offers one touch temperature settings for Red, White or Sparkling Wine. The capacity is 74 Bottles in the upper zone and 75 bottles in the lower zone. It also features a reversible door with tempered glass and stainless steel trim. It also has wooden shelves and a sturdy pull out roller assembly, and an interior fan for temperature control.
